The poster doing the rounds last week has three acts on it who have not signed, and everybody in the touring end of the business knows which three. Putting an unsigned name on a mock poster is an old trick and it usually works on the act, not on you.

Three exit rumours, and why only one of them holds up

Exit rumours arrive in threes every autumn because that is when contracts are up. Two of this year’s do not survive a look at the shooting schedule. One of them very much does, and it is not the one the fan pages have picked.

An apology tour has four stops and they are always the same four

Once you have seen the shape you cannot unsee it. Statement, sympathetic long-form interview, a charity association, then a project announcement about six weeks later. The interesting part is what it tells you about how bad the thing was.
